Penny’s Hill is one of South Australia’s most iconic wineries located in the centre of the McLaren Vale wine region between Willunga and McLaren Vale. Having taken a little break from weddings to focus on their cellar door and restaurant this beautiful property is now offering weddings again in conjunction with Mase Agency a well respected and local hire, styling and event management company.
Named Penny’s Hill Vineyard after the hill at the base of which presides, the property originally was a part of the states rich farming history something you’ll see echoed through the traditional stone entrance, post and rail fences, sheep yards and of course the historic buildings including ‘Ingleburne’ the original 1850’s homestead.
Penny’s Hill allow couples to create an occasion befitting of their personality and choose their own preference of caterers to match with Penny’s Hill internationally awarded premium small-batch wines for a true foodies wedding experience.
The property itself is a hallmark statement. Within are some incredible choices and flexibility to create the styled wedding that suits your personal style be it classic, modern, rustic or boho each space can’t help have a hint of old-world elegance to it.
Ceremonies are offered on the manicured lawns between the Cellar Door and Stables against a cute original picket fence. Alternatively, couples are welcome to utilise the Ingleburne gardens for their ceremony. The original 1850’s homestead and now the private residence of the owners, Ingleburne offers an incredible backdrop for ceremonies and photography. Surrounded by a classic white picket fence, manicured lawns and gardens it’s an elegant private and beautiful space shaded by big old trees.
For receptions, Penny’s Hill offers no less than three incredible options. The modern Kitchen Door restaurant space is an obvious choice filled with all the conveniences and creature comforts one could hope including reverse cycle airconditioning, it’s suitable for up to 80 seated. Adjacent to this is the marquee lawns that with an added marquee can increase the capacity of The Kitchen Door to 200 seated.
But if of course these options seem a bit to mainstream for you then, don’t worry, we’ve saved the best till last – The Stables. Erected in the Late 1850’ s to house the farm’s Clydesdale plowing team and built from stone, straw and mud the building is ‘old rustic charm’ at its finest. It’s a space suitable for up to 120 seated guests and is an ideal year-round option.
