The Woodville Town hall is literally a step back in time, a grand old dame with her own glamourous personality!
This space is steeped in history and community spirit, not to mention grandeur. Built in 1927, the venue’s Main Hall was originally operated as one of Adelaide’s Star picture theatres and is one of only a few theatres across Adelaide that remains beautifully preserved.
Many original details dating back from the venue’s theatre glory days still remain today. In the entry foyer, still in place are the timber ticket booths, beautiful turquoise porcelain wall tiles and even the mosaic floor tiles.
The huge Main Hall is a feast for the eyes, with so many lavish details intact – heritage crystal chandeliers, original polished floorboards, crown moulding and ornate plaster fretwork on the balconies, and intricate timber feature panels around the stage. This large space can comfortably seat over 200 people with a dance floor and bridal table, or up to 400 for a cocktail function.
Working with caterers Let Them Eat, there’s no need to worry about organising a caterer, however if you have your heart set on your own, the venue does allow external caterers to be brought in.
This venue is centrally located between the CBD and Adelaide’s beachside suburbs – if you are after a more traditional church ceremony or even beach nuptials, you won’t have far to travel for the reception.
This vintage beauty is a real charmer, and trust us, the photos just don’t do the space justice. You really need to see it to believe it ❤️
