The Summit

The Summit is a picturesque modern venue and one of the Adelaide Hills’ most iconic locations, with unparalleled views over Adelaide and the Gulf St Vincent. Located just over 700m above sea level, The Summit sits at the peak of Mt Lofty.

Not only iconic, this location is also part of South Australia’s rich history. Discovered by Matthew Flinders in 1802, it is home to the famous ‘Flinders Column’, a large obelisk that can be seen from a great distance.

The Summit has an impressive outdoor space known as the forecourt, with sweeping views and a stunning natural backdrop it is perfect for your outdoor ceremony. Frame the space with impressive floral columns, or simply leave it as a blank slate – the views here speak for themselves!

Their elegant indoor function space comfortably caters for up to 100 guests seated or 180 for a cocktail reception. With large floor-to-ceiling windows wrapping the western side of the building, you can take in the full views of Adelaide and beyond.

While the function space is beautiful, our pick would be a gorgeous long-table reception outside on Adelaide’s highest peak. Mingle and enjoy pre-dinners whilst taking in the golden sunset, then relax at your table under the stars for the evening celebrations. The bonus of an outdoor reception is the function centre can be saved as a wet weather alternative, plus it is also a great location for your band or DJ to set up.
