Pikes is a picturesque Clare Valley winery and brewery that combines beautiful modern architecture with an impressive history. The property at Polish Hill River, just a stone’s throw from Sevenhill, spans 100 hectares and offers superb views of the area with its gentle rolling slopes.

Crafting beverages since 1886, the Pikes family have mastered not only wines but also beer, combining the best of both worlds! Their vineyard sits on a bed of 650-million-year-old slate stone; an element which features both in their restaurant’s name as well as the materials from which their buildings have been crafted.

Pikes is the perfect venue for a ceremony, large or small. Choose from the manicured garden with its large lawned space framed by historic stone buildings, or the picnic area alongside a meandering creek lined with ancient gums. Intimate ceremonies are catered for too – the cosy stone pruner’s hut is perched atop a small hill, revealing striking vineyard views.

While you meander around the property for photos, guests will be treated to drinks and canapés in the garden.

Carry on your celebrations into the evening with a reception at the award-winning and chef-hatted Slate restaurant. Tastefully combining slate, sandstone and native Tasmanian Oak, this space has a rustic yet über chic feel, that lends itself beautifully to any style. Slate restaurant can seat up to 100 people, or for standing cocktail functions up to 120 people.

Pikes is a full-service venue, teaming up their iconic Pikes wines and Pike Beer Co. beer with exquisite meals. The team at Slate are passionate about all things local, the dishes feature standout regional and seasonal ingredients, showcasing the crème de la crème of food in the Clare Valley.
