McLaren Vale Distillery

The first of its kind for VENYU, this McLaren Vale estate offers couples a unique experience located amongst a striking backdrop of vines and forest.

McLaren Vale Distillery was established in 2014 under the expert guidance of owner Jock Harvey, whose family are 6^th generation vignerons, and has since become known in the distilling and wine industries for their legendary and award-winning single malt spirits. Now we think we can safely say they’ll put a stamp, nay label, on the weddings industry too!

As guests approach the distillery, they wind their way up a picturesque road lined with gums and rows of grapevines that stretch out into the distance. Perched atop a hill, the elevation provides not only a sense of peace but also a commanding perspective of the surrounding Fleurieu Peninsula landscape.

Located on the northern edge of the McLaren Vale wine region and bordering the Onkaparinga River National Park, the 127-acre Blewitt Springs estate and former dairy has been given a new life, with a newly built Tasting Room that doubles as a function space.

The Tasting Room is a space that is as unique as the distillery’s cask-aged whiskies. It is a handsome and welcoming place for guests to relax, with gleaming copper stills standing proudly against the backdrop of upcycled timber panels and stacked barrels. The perfect reception space for dancing & cocktails, the Tasting Room can comfortably accommodate 80 guests for a cocktail-style function, or in warmer months can be combined with the outdoor areas allowing up to 150 guests. It can also double as an undercover ceremony back-up in the event of inclement weather.

The massive timber barn doors lead out to the terrace and deck, complete with draped festoon lights. This space is ideal for an intimate ceremony but also serves as a vantage point for guests to savour the impressive views while enjoying their handcrafted spirits.

The distillery’s spacious estate provides plenty of choice for couples when it comes to your ceremony and they provide a wedding coordinator who can suggest the most practical locations for your nuptials, based on guest numbers and any access needs.

Catering at McLaren Vale Distillery is fully flexible – you can bring in your preferred caterer, or you can choose one from their list of preferred suppliers, and there is ample space to wheel in food trucks as well. Now let’s talk about drinks… They offer a range of beverage packages, and their premium beverage package includes a choice of delectable cocktails, hello Espresso Martinis!

McLaren Vale Distillery is a location offering an evening celebration, however if you’d prefer an earlier start, couples do have the option to extend their day (pricing additional).
