Set across 60 acres of open countryside, Thiele Vale has space in spades, giving you plenty of room to breathe, and to celebrate! Located in Callington, bordering both the Fleurieu Peninsula and Murray River, Lakes & Coorong regions, the property honestly feels a world away. However, just a 20-minute drive from Mt Barker it remains refreshingly accessible for guests!

At its heart, Thiele Vale is all about privacy and authenticity. This is a genuine farm setting with no pre-set formats and no interruptions – just you, your guests and the freedom to make their property yours for the day.

Thiele Vale takes its name from the Thiele (pronounced Tier-Lee) family, whose legacy lives on through the homestead, cottage and shearing shed built here in the mid-1800s. Now in the hands of owners Natalie and Edward, the property has evolved into a venue where history, hospitality and the ease of country living come together, offering couples a warm and character-filled place to celebrate.

There are two main ceremony locations at Thiele Vale. Exchange vows beneath a statement gum tree or within the lush Homestead Gardens, each space offers views of their expansive rural backdrop (sometimes complete with rows of crops), allowing you to shape a ceremony that feels relaxed and unmistakably country. The great thing about both of these spaces is that your ceremony can flow seamlessly into pre-dinners without any fuss or long walks.

When it’s time to celebrate after your nuptials, guests can wander across the gardens to their restored heritage Shearing Shed, which is, is in our opinion, the true hero at Thiele Vale. This fully enclosed space features century-old timber beams and rustic textures alongside modern amenities. Comfortably accommodating up to 120 guests, it’s perfect for long-table feasts, dancing into the night and a wedding reception with an unforgettable party atmosphere!

There are no cookie cutter packages here! Thiele Vale is offered as a completely dry-hire venue, giving couples full control over how their wedding comes to life. However, a little bonus is that venue hire does incorporate some inclusions such as ceremony furniture and wedding planning support. Apart from that you can bring in all your own preferred caterers, beverage suppliers, entertainers, reception furniture and styling. Multiple powered and watered areas across the property make it easy to design a seamless, from-scratch celebration that reflects your vision.
