Built in 1842, one of the original colonial properties of South Australia, Marybank Estate has always been spectacular. The original holding was 560 acres comprising of the homestead, gardens, a natural spring, paddocks and stables and breathtaking natural bushland which now form part of the adjoining Morialta Conservation Park. Entrusted to the Fox family in 1843 the property remains today with the family, who have carefully maintained this special piece of heritage only minutes from the Adelaide CBD.

Marybank Estate’s hedged Wedding Lawn set within seven acres of landscaped gardens is a stunning ceremony location for up to 120 guests. Bordered by Mediterranean gardens, cypress pines and a highly sought after hills face setting of native bushland, Marybank Estate’s Wedding Lawn allows you flexibility in selecting your preferred vista.

Overlooking the lawn is the iconic Heritage Barn and what a picture it is! It’s timber barn doors, French windows, and climbing rose is enough to give the most well-travelled of people goosebumps.

Upstairs is a beautiful self-contained B&B suite, complete with rustic balcony, claw foot bath and open plan lounge/dining room area. The suite is an easy option for pre-wedding photography for a small bridal party and of course a beautiful space to retire to at the end of the night. Whilst on the topic of accommodation, a huge benefit of Marybank Estate’s location is the convenience for your guests, with hundreds of options within a 15-minute drive.

Downstairs, the Heritage Barn’s whitewashed walls and large heritage fireplace have been accentuated by small modern details and tasteful lighting. It’s a spectacular space for a seated reception of 40 guests and a stylist’s dream, with so many possibilities and a setting that guarantees dramatic results.

Outside the Barn, the wisteria-lined terrace opening out into yet another beautiful garden is an alluring area to celebrate with your guests. The space is suited for up to 120 guests in a cocktail style reception or 80-100 seated. The terrace has also been lined with custom café blinds to ensure against evening chills and provide a trusted and beautiful space for a ceremony in inclement weather.

In collaboration with Sprout Catering, one of Adelaide’s best caterers, Marybank Estate offers a wide variety of onsite catering options made from delicious local cuisine suitable for seated, cocktail or less formal styles (we love their seasonal grazing boards as a great alternative to the traditional canapé service). Paired with in-house beverage packages, it couldn’t be any easier!
