Hastwell & Lightfoot

Set amongst the vines and olive orchards of Fleurieu Peninsula’s beautiful McLaren Vale, Hastwell & Lightfoot is a relaxed venue for small to medium sized weddings. Established 1988 by Mark and Wendy Hastwell and partners Martin and Jill Lightfoot, Hastwell & Lightfoot is one of McLaren Vale’s most innovative family-run winegrowers. This venue is now home to to The Oak Room, a modern meets rustic function space with sprawling green lawns, large mature gum and oak trees, and seemingly endless views of the vines.

The Oak Room is an inviting space that combines both modern and rustic features, such as exposed beams, timber walls, polished concrete floors, a wood fireplace and festoon lighting. Glass concertina doors open up to a large wrap-around spotted gum deck complete with barrels and festoon lighting, perfect for pre-dinners or late night dance parties. The Oak Room can comfortably seat up to 48 guests at a long-table style reception, or for a larger more casual cocktail affair you can have up to 150 guests spread out between the indoor and outdoor areas.

Picture vintage bird cages filled with florals hanging from the ceiling, or even bring in a wall of greenery for extra wow factor. The Oak Room has its own charm, so whatever style you choose, the space will shine!

Another lovely space adjoining The Oak Room is the large lawned area, that can be utilised for ceremonies or lawn games, and offers plenty of space for a marquee or tipi.

Couples have access to the entire property for photography, including a stunning pink bougainvillea wrapped porch attached to the Cellar Door and the family’s private vineyard. They will even throw in some other cool inclusions such as their lawn games!

Hastwell & Lightfoot wines, beer, local cider and friendly bar staff are included in their packages, however you have total flexibility to choose your own caterer, who will have access to their fully equipped on-site kitchen. Or you could wheel in a food truck or two for that wed-fest vibe that so suits this venue!

If by chance you are looking for accommodation for your bridal party in the lead up, they have their own 4-bedroom/2-bathroom farmhouse just a short drive from the cellar door. The farmhouse has just been updated and is the ideal location for getting wedding ready, or perhaps for parents or grandparents so they don’t have to travel far after the big day.
