A quintessential country vineyard on the coast, Home of Plenty is a 60-acre property located deep in the Currency Creek wine country. Roughly an hour’s drive from the city and only 10 minutes from the riverside town of Goolwa, Home of Plenty is a property that is sure to impress!

Owned by the Shaw Family, the original homestead and barns are believed to have been built in the early 1900s. Wrapped by cottage gardens, big native gums and Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot producing vines, the property has a sense of calm, and it’s hard not to notice the clean country air.

Previously only ever offered to family and close friends, Home of Plenty is now available for weddings and private events as a flexible venue. Couples will be able to select their preferred caterer to pair with Home of Plenty’s own beverage package options, and bring in all their own suppliers.

In terms of spaces, they’ve got some gorgeous options for you. The front lawn of the gracious old Villa Homestead under the big gum is certainly the most logical for ceremonies, especially with all the roses, but you could also opt to have the vines behind you or utilise one of the other locations in the garden.

The most important space though, is that reserved for receptions, The Barn. Closed on three sides with stone walls and protected by a high ceiling it’s a space large enough to accommodate 110 guests for a seated reception and opens out to a large lawn area adjacent to the vines which increases its capacity in fine weather (up to 300 guests for a cocktail celebration). Roll in a food truck or wood fired pizza ovens, comfy lounge furniture or lawn games and a couple of strings of festoon lights. It’s a picture of laid back country wedding perfection.

The latest addition to the property is the Home of Plenty Cellar Door, located right next to The Barn. This modern space is available for a bespoke wedding or celebration and opens up to a fun outdoor Alfresco area, ideal for those sunset cocktails or speeches. The tennis courts and side garden also work well for pre-receptions.

Lastly, their on-site accommodation options provide a luxurious home away from home for up to 14 guests. The property’s iconic Villa Homestead has 5 bedrooms and plenty of amenities including billiards table, tennis court and a private pool. Converted from a stone barn, and additional two boutique studios are available and they have the charm of age but with the comforts of modern life including a spacious studio bedroom/living area and separate bathroom. The country charm even continues to breakfast, with all the provisions for a late breakfast cook up including eggs straight from the chook house.
