A “meant to be” vineyard love story  – Tilly and Tyler’s glamorous Langhorne Creek wedding.

Tilly & Tyler recently married at Lake Breeze, and when we saw the insane sneak peeks of their day we were dying to know a little more about them! We had a chat about their story and asked them to reveal some details of their glamorous wedding at Lake Breeze…

How did you meet?

Tyler and I first met in 2014 at our local pub, The ‘Bridge Hotel’ in Langhorne Creek. Little did we know, Langhorne Creek would become the backdrop to so many of life’s biggest milestones. It’s where we met, where our relationship began, where we bought our first home together, and where we celebrated our wedding.

At the time, I had just started working as a kitchen hand at the pub. One Tuesday, I spotted Tyler changing the keg. All I managed was a nervous “hi” as he walked past.

Twelve years later, we stood together on the cellar door terrace as we tied the knot at his family’s winery, surrounded by the place that has shaped so much of our story.

Working at Lake Breeze as the Cellar Door Manager I get the pleasure of overlooking the terrace where our ceremony took place.

It’s pretty special, because not many people get to spend their workdays looking out over the place where they married the love of their life.

What made you choose Lake Breeze for your wedding?

For us, it could’ve only ever have been Lake Breeze. Being a member of the Follett family, Tyler grew up helping his dad, Tim, in the vineyard, running through the vines. His first ‘real’ job (aside from pruning vines, packing and labelling) was working in the kitchen and restaurant.

My family and I moved to Langhorne Creek when I was 12 years old, and it became an instant home for us. I’ve been working at Lake Breeze for 8 years, first as a waitress and kitchenhand, then as a member of the Cellar Door team and currently as the Cellar Door Manager. Tyler plans to one day be the winemaker at Lake Breeze, and I see myself there for quite some time. We both love the philosophy of Lake Breeze Wines and are both passionate about Langhorne Creek as a region. Lake Breeze is such as special place for the both of us and holds such significance for both our past and futures.

What was your vision for your wedding day?

We’ve both worked many a wedding at Lake Breeze, so we went into our planning with two main goals. One, have a wedding that is utterly authentic to us, and two, create an event the likes of which Lake Breeze has never seen. Tyler really gave me full reign with the creative side of planning, but every decision we made was with intention and made together. We wanted every part of our day to be an experience for our guests.

Did you include any special personal touches?

Our stationary was all designed and printed by myself. The design on our stationary was a culmination of us. From things we love, to our favourite sports and foods, to small jokes about our childhoods, it’s a collage of every second of our lives. It started small, with our save the dates; a single sheet designed like a playing card, printed on water colour and individually heat embossed. The invitations became a small deck of cards, presented in a pocket fold from Peterkin stationary.

We also had a beautiful barrel wall separating our ceremony and cocktail hour spaces, finished with rich deep green drapery to complete the look. Tyler spent the Thursday before the wedding building the barrel wall by hand, making it even more special. To top it off, two of the barrels featured in the wall were the very first barrels that Tyler made wine in, adding such a meaningful touch to the day.

The wine on the tables was picked from my family’s vineyard in 2024 by Tyler, his parents, one of his brothers and myself. We didn’t necessarily make it with the intention of using it for the wedding, but found ourselves a year out from the day, thinking about favours and how we could personalise them.

We floated a few ideas, until one day the idea popped. What if we bottled our wine and used it not only as favours but also as the wine we served on our tables? The benefits of marrying a winemaker.

Every single person that was involved in the making of the wine attended the wedding, from picking and pressing of the wine, right through to bottling and hand labelling each bottle, which made it extra special. On the back label of this bottle, we had the line ‘made with love, for love’, which I then, of course, made into a 3-metre-long vinyl floor decal to put in front of the bar.

What was your favourite moment of the day?

It’s hard for me to choose a singular favourite moment. Our entrance was pretty awesome though.

We had our whole bridal party enter before us, so it was just Tyler and I for a quiet moment by ourselves.

Georgia surprised us by telling our emcee to get all the guests to stand up on their chair with their tambourine in hand for our entrance. I remember Tyler and I looking at each other just before the door opened, with huge grins on our faces thinking how insanely lucky we were.

I was locked out of the venue from the Thursday, so I had no idea what everything looked like. I helped put all the tablecloths down on the Wednesday with the intention of being involved with the full set up, however Georgia insisted on keeping it a surprise for me, which was such an amazing thing to do. It made seeing the barrel room for the first time on the evening all that more emotional, to see all the hard work come together in such a perfect way was just magical.

What did you think of Lake Breeze as a venue?

Our biggest collaborator throughout the whole process was with the team from Lake Breeze. From the very get go, they were as invested in our wedding as we were, and I don’t think that is a trait exclusive to us as a couple. I think there is such genuine care and investment from the whole team at Lake Breeze that goes into every single wedding, event and service that they do.

I look back in awe as to how much of a village we had around us. Whenever we needed help, we were lucky enough to have them by our side and that is truly a testament to them all.

We thank our family, for having such a wonderful venue for us to make use of. It’s been so much fun to serve drinks and run food for other people’s weddings but extra special now that we are on the other side!

The staff at Lake Breeze consistently go above and beyond not only on our day, but every day. Our wedding day simply wouldn’t have been possible without our coordinators. Their guidance, reassurance, shoulder to cry on, suggestions, and willingness to make whatever we wanted, happen, it is truly what every couple deserves, and that is what every couple is blessed with when they get married at Lake Breeze.

A massive congratulations to these two lovely humans, we couldn’t be happier for them! Scroll down for some jaw dropping photos of their day courtesy of Kinship by Kristy.
