The Liebelt Farm

Nestled in the scenic Adelaide Hills, The Liebelt Farm is a historic private property near Littlehampton now offering couples a peaceful backdrop for their country wedding.

For seven generations, the Liebelt family has owned and lovingly maintained this property since its settlement in the 1850s, adapting its use through various forms of farming over the years, from sheep to potato farming, and even as a dairy. Today, The Liebelt Farm is managed family team Rebekah, Amanda and Jonathan, who decided to open the gates for weddings to share the beauty of the property with the public.

The siblings have since transformed the space into an affordable dry-hire wedding venue. To preserve the property’s rich agricultural heritage, all original buildings remain relatively intact, including stone barns and their iconic iron-clad Chaff House, which serves as a charming function space for weddings and events.

This venue can accommodate up to 150 guests – comfortably seating 80 guests in the Chaff House, up to 100 guests with the addition of a marquee, or 150 guests for an open-air celebration in their Farmyard.

In terms of spaces, we think you’ll be impressed by what’s on offer. For your ceremony, The Acorn Tree is the perfect location to tie the knot. It is a lovely, secluded area, tucked away from the rest of the farm buildings. The tree’s large canopy provides shade during the summer, but also gives a beautiful contrast of colour through the seasons. Alternatively, there is The Farmyard, it is a large level grassed area with an original stone barn as the backdrop.

There’s another really special location that we think you’ll be amazed by and is an ideal spot for couples photos. The Smokehouse Tree is a 250-year-old living river red gum which has been hollowed out on the inside – the tree was used by the family’s ancestors for smoking meat, and the charred insides can still be observed today.

As this is a dry-hire venue, you have complete control over your beverages and catering, and they can happily provide you with recommendations for suppliers. The passion and professionalism shown by this family trio is commendable. They’re there to help when you need them and love to lend a hand, but will do their best to blend into the background at all other times.

Only 35 minutes from Adelaide’s CBD, and just a short drive to the amenities and string of accommodation options in Hahndorf and Mt Barker, this venue is ideally located.
