Fleurieu Cherries is a beautiful venue that is taking the market by storm and is only available for an exclusive number of weddings each year.

Just five minutes from Willunga, the 13 hectare country property is littered with beautiful old gum trees and grey river gums that line the natural creek which meanders through the front paddocks.

The lawns of the cellar door offer a stunning space for ceremonies with the backdrop of the beautiful big gums. There is also another levelled hideaway on the edge of the creek known as the Three Sisters with three significantly old River Gum trees which add to the whimsical look of the tall river reeds. Both ceremony locations are easily accessible and can accommodate up to 120 guests.

A cherry farm isn’t your everyday kind of wedding venue and this one certainly offers you some gorgeous unique quirks. Couples can also have access to the fully enclosed orchard for photography making for striking photos amongst the cherry trees, especially in early October when they are in full blossom!

Pre-receptions on the lawns of the cellar door aren’t just your average affair with a house-made cherry ice cream servery available, a large lawn area suitable for lawn games, picnic style seating and a golf range nearby.

Cocktail receptions are welcomed on the lawn, otherwise for seated dinners you’ll have access to their semi-permanent marquee which comfortably seats up to 120 guests – it comes lined with astroturf acting as a perfect extension to the lawns which also features a large fire pit, perfect for cool spring nights.

Sharing the property and cellar door is the owners’ other passion, Fleurieu Hills Vineyards, offering a traditional range of quality wines produced on site. The two passions of cherries and wine meet to create their flagship sparkling Cherry Moscato blend, a favourite for post ceremony toasting. Wine is available in-house with a full bar team, but the bonus is their flexibility to allow you to supply your own beers, soft drinks and accompaniments as well as selecting your choice of caterers or even food trucks.

Fleurieu Cherries offers you the country marquee wedding, but without the extra expenses you’d be up for in remote locations being that you have access to; power, water, 2 fixed bathrooms, a large kitchen area for caterers, bar, small lounge within the cellar door, and a large cool room. The property being just 5 minutes from Willunga gives you lots of options for guest accommodation in the McLaren Vale region or an easy 45 minute bus ride back to the city.

Fleurieu Cherries’ venue hire fee also includes sole use for the day of your function, meaning ceremony times are flexible and you won’t have the restrictive late start time most wineries enforce. The owners are very generous in providing couples two days either side of their event to set up/pack down and due to the exclusive number of weddings at Fleurieu Cherries each year, they can guarantee your wedding will be the only event at the property that weekend.
